The Realme GT 2’s Android 13 update was launched in November 2022 last year, but it has been quite buggy for a while. Realme has now released the Android 13 stable update known as c.14.
However, it is unavailable for all Realme GT 2 users as the rollout update is slow. That’s why I decided to write this guide to manually upgrade Realme GT 2 to Android 13 updates. So without any further delay, let’s start with the blog.

Realme GT 2 Android 13 Software Update Process Guide
The first thing you need to do to install the update is to go to this XDA link and download the latest Android 13 update package. Make sure you are downloading the correct package for your phone, as there are different packages available for different regions.
Therefore, if you have the Chinese Realme GT 2, then you have to download the Chinese update package. Since I have the Indian variant of the Realme GT 2, I will download the latest Android 13 package for India. At the time of writing, the latest Realme GT 2 Android 13 update is the C.14 variant.
- Tap on the package name, and it should start the download process. Once the update package is downloaded, move the package from download to internal storage.
- Once you have downloaded the Realme GT 2’s Android 13 update, you need to enable developer settings. Go to Settings>About Device>Versions> Tap on build number 5 times.
- Now go back to the About Device Page, tap on the Realme UI option & tap on the 3-dot menu in the corner, this will bring up a drop-down menu, now click on Local Install.
- Select the update package you have downloaded from XDA, and tap on Extract. Keep in mind that the entire installation and extraction process will take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete. Also, keep your battery percentage at least 60% before you begin the process.

Realme GT Android 12 Roll Back Package (Only For Indian Users)
If you are already running the latest Realme GT 2 Android 13 update and facing bugs, then rolling back to Android 12 makes sense. The process is the same as upgrading to Android 13, but instead, you need to download the Realme GT 2 rollback package. The link to download is the same XDA thread, and you will find the Realme GT 2 downgrade package there.
There is no rollback package for any region other than the Indian variant. of GT 2. So download the Android 12 package written under the India section. Users from other regions will not be able to downgrade their GT 2 to the previous Android version.
- After downloading the Realme GT 2’s Android 12 rollback package, you need to enable the Developer Option by going to Settings>About Device>Version> and tapping on the Build number 5 times.
- Now go back to the About Device Page, tap on the Realme UI option & tap on the 3-dot menu in the corner, this will bring up a drop-down menu, now click on Local Install.
- Select the update package you have downloaded from XDA and tap on Extract. Keep in mind that the entire installation and extraction process will take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete. Also, keep your battery percentage at least 60% before you begin the process.
Latest Realme GT 2 Software Update Policy
It was expected that Realme GT 2 would receive 3 major OS updates and monthly security patches. However, Realme announced that going forward, Realme GT 2 will only get quarterly updates. Given that it has been slightly more than a year since Realme GT 2 launched, I found this sudden change in policy to be disappointing.
While on the subject, I will also say that quality matters more than quantity. So if monthly updates are ruining the camera quality or causing heating issues, then I will rather prefer quarterly updates.
You can also verify this change in the Realme GT 2 update policy by visiting the security policy section of Realme. You will have to use Google Translate to see in what frequency Realme GT 2 will receive software updates.
