I recently purchased a GoPro 13 to shoot my upcoming bike trip. So, while setting up, I decided why not write a step-by-step on how to connect a GoPro to your iPhone wirelessly or with a cable.

In this detailed guide, I have shared all the ways you can connect your GoPro to all your Apple devices.

  • Open the App Store and install the official GoPro Quik Companion app.
  • Once installed, turn on your GoPro and then open the app. Once your GoPro is on, open the Quik app on your iPhone.
  • Within the app, tap on the GoPro option in the bottom right corner.
  • On the next screen, you should see the Connect a GoPro option in the center of the screen. Tap on it to proceed.

  • Now the app will prompt you to select the GoPro model you are linking with your iPhone.

Alternatively, you can use the wired connection as well if you are pairing or connecting with another device and don’t want to pair for security or privacy reasons.

However, only select GoPros can be connected to your iPhone using a wired cable. Here is a list of GoPro models that support a wired connection.

  • Select the files you want to save to your MacBook and click on Download. You can download all the files using the “Download All Files” option.

Alternate Method: Connect GoPro To Your Laptop Using a Micro SD Card

If you have a Micro SD Card Adapter, simply take out the SD card from your GoPro and put it in your Adapter.

Connect the MicroSD adapter to your PC and access all your files. In my opinion, this is the easiest method to connect the GoPro to your laptop.
